Date: September 27, 2009
Type: Presentations
Attached you will find a workbook with the data collected by Marple-Newtown 9th grade students in their field study of Crum Creek. Twelve teams visited one of two Crum Creek sites- the covered bridge at Boot Rd, Mill Hollow ( just above Rt.3), and two Trout Run sites ( a major tributary of Crum Creek in Marple)- Kent Park and at the Crum Creek Rd. Bridge. The macroinvertebrate data is graphed under 'Composite Macros' by year. Click on the other tabs to view the data for the different sites by year. This year the Hildacy Farm site on Crum Creek below the Springton Reservoir was dropped, and Kent Park was substituted. The effort was headed by Robert Speca of MNHS and CRC. CRC would like to thank all of the volunteers who serve as chemistry, macrodinvertebrate, and stream measurement coaches/team leaders: Daniel Pourreau and Jenny Osmond ( Lyondell-Basell), Dan Golub and Andy ( Forest Service), Brian Vadino ( Delaware County Conservation District); Robert Speca, Anne Lanshe, Don Tabor, and others from MNHS; CRC members Vivian Williams, Susan Heberling, Kevin Boyle, and Margaret Van Gilder; and Brandywine Valley Association volunteers Jane Fava, Kathy Bergman, and Johanna Fox.
