Dam Removals

Aston Township has taken the lead and engaged the PA Fish and Boat Commission, American Rivers, CRC, and Vollmer Associates in the removal of the first two dams on the West Branch of Chester Creek. 

These partners anticipate that removing these two dams will lessen upstream flooding, improve fish habitat, and allow for fish passage and migration in this popular trout stocking fishery.  CRC monitors have documented the pre-dam removal conditions of the two dam sites.
